Privacy notice
What we collect, why we are allowed to, who else sees it, and how to make us delete it.
Who we are
Lighthill Solutions, based in Dublin, Ireland, is the data controller for everything described here. Contact us at hello@lighthill.solutions.
What we collect
Enquiry and quotation forms: your name, company, email, phone, country, timeline and your description of the work.
Shop orders:your name, email, delivery address and the items ordered. Card details are entered on Stripe’s own payment page — they never reach this site and we never see or store them.
Email you send us, and our replies.
The visa requirements checker stores nothing. The nationality, destination and purpose you select are used to look up an answer and are not recorded against you.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation — steps taken at your request before entering a contract. To deliver the service and fulfil orders — performance of our contract with you. To keep accounting and tax records — a legal obligation. To keep the site secure and prevent fraud — our legitimate interests.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Who else processes it
We use these providers, who handle data on our behalf and only on our instructions: Stripe (payments), Resend (sending email), Porkbun (receiving email), Cloudinary (images), Neon (database) and Vercel (hosting).
Where it is held
Our database is hosted in the United Kingdom, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection. Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards the GDPR requires.
How long we keep it
Records that form part of our business accounts — quotations, invoices, orders and payments — are kept for six years, which is the retention period Irish Revenue requires.
Enquiries that do not become work are deleted after 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop a particular use, or ask for it in a portable form. Email hello@lighthill.solutions and we will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland’s supervisory authority, at dataprotection.ie.
